The TVR 420 Sports Saloon (a sort of Ferrari 400 of Great Britain) was a coupé two doors with four seats and a glass reinforced polyester resin. Under the skin a multitubular steel backbone spaceframe chassis with outriggers. Suspensions were organized in double wishbones front and rear on coil spring and telescopic shockabsorbers.
The car was equipped with a front-central V8 engine, 4.228 cc, low lift camshafts, overhead valves, hydraulic tappets and five bearing steel crankshaft, electronic ignition system. The maximum power was 265 hp @ 5.500 rpm, 300 ft/lbs @ 3.500 rpm. In addition: five gears, rear traction.
This car could reach 150 mph (241 km/h) and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 6″.
