The TVR Sagaris was born with a specific aim: a light and sporty car (with roll cage and wider tracks than the Tuscan) that could have been modified for any racing use (the bulge upon the roof is the perfect demonstration of it; and we cannot forget the mighty TVR Monster).

So this image comes really as a great surprise: at TVR facility a TVR Sagaris Targa has been under works! And surprisingly it seems that TVR management tryed to approach even to a TVR Sagaris Spider: a single unit was built for tests but, according to who knows something about it, it was “terrible”.

The question is: could it be possibile to propose a TVR Sagaris Targa to customers? Maybe the spirit and soul of the TVR Sagaris could have been lost? In our opinion, maybe YES! The TVR Sagaris rimained a unique model, plus some race units. That’s the he squaring of the circle!

But there could be a second chance: maybe this was the first study on the next generation of the TVR T350. We have to admit that the front part of the car is completely hidden…

  1. regarding the Sagaris targa and Sagaris 2. i have sent tvr some e-mails and they still haven’t responded. is there any chance i can order a new sagaris 2 LHD as new and at what price ?

  2. The prototype of the new Sagaris 2 has been introduced on last July 2008 (follow the link “Sagaris 2” on the right column). Then the car should have left for Europe for testing and homologation. But at this time we don’t know anything about TVR’s activity.
There was a NEW LHD Sagaris “1” for sale in Italy (red paint) but we’ve been told it was sold.

  3. do we even know if this company still produces cars in UK ?? I haven’t herad of them too long. Besides i calling them and sending e-mail and no-one replies…

  4. It’s so sad. Anyway that’s the situation. Try to have a trip on the forums. There are many people very close to TVR ex management. But it seems no one has news
