In 1963 Jack Griffith envisioned a powerful British-American hybrid sports car that would join Ford V-8 power with a lightweight TVR British fiberglass body design to become the Griffith motorcar.

Mike Mooney, following graduation from high school and a stint with the United States Marine Corps in Southeast Asia, Mike joined the Suffolk County (Long Island, New York) Police force and served for twenty-two years.

It was during that time that he was asked to join the Griffith team as a test driver along with Mark Donohue where Mike was given the chores of wringing out the demons that often accompany a fledgling auto manufacturer and translating these problems to the engineering department.

Thanks to this experience with the Griffiths from 1964 to 1967 Mike Mooney has published a real bible about the TVR Griffith. Maybe it could be really a great Christmas gift for TVR Enthusiasts!
