Evidently TVR recently announce of the rebirth of a totally new TVR has awawked some kind of palpitations. Looking for some new ideas on what we could expected, thanks to TVR Unofficial Blog’s aficionados some interesting ideas emerged from Internet: a possibly new TVR Griffith, a new TVR Grantura and so on (they’re all summarised in TVR Concepts and Prototypes section of TVR Unofficial blog.

Anyway: there’s also who is showing more courage riding the moment. Classic World Racing, a UK-based racing specialist, made almost the same thing did Ford with the Ford GT, Fiat with the new 500, PGO with the Porsche 356 Speedster recreation.

CWR has somehow managed to obtain the original molds for the old 1968 TVR Tuscan that had been sitting unused for decades in an old barn, after which the company built a race car using the molds for a client in Malaysia. Shortly thereafter, demand for a roadgoing version was deemed strong enough to make the necessary modifications to make it street legal. In this new form, CWR chose to call the machine the Titan.  The first road legale car is expected to be completed by August, with numbers two and three built by the end of September.

Engine: the Titan comes as standard which Chevrolet’s 6.2 litre LS3 engine, an SAE certified block introduced in 2008 with high-flow heads, a high-flow intake manifold and injectors from the larger LS7 engine.
In the Titan, the engine output is 480bhp as standard, but CWR can offer various naturally aspirated and forced induction upgrades to 650bhp and beyond.
Chassis: it consists of a ultra strong, steel spaceframe chassis with optional integrated FIA-specification roll cage. Strong, lightweight GRP panels.
Driveline:  Five speed Tremec manual transmission with limited slip differential, driving the rear wheels.
Performances: Alcon 4 piston vented (front) and 2 piston (rear) disc brakes. 17″ cast alloy wheels with 245/45/17 tyres.
Performances: 0-60 mph in 3.4s, 0-100mph in 7.1s

  1. Super TVR, I love it.
I just bought a TVR Taimar, but if I would have known my choice is clear for the Titan…..!!!¨
Anyway TVR will (the real Blackpool ones) encounter a drastic price increase in the next few years, believe me the best is to have such sign as the "reborn"of the classic M Serie wit the Racing Titan and the new TVR -with V8 engine and possibly built in Germany- due somewhere in Summer 2010.
But Blackpool TVR will always be beloved cars for the extrovert. Just observe what happened in the last few weeks with the exilarating Sagaris or T350 or the classic beauty of a Tuscan Mk3. The Griffith will be in a few years the AC Cobras of the 90'S. And classics like the M Serie or Vixen. Grantura should be rediscovered as the most undervalued (in term of price) British sportscars.

    Ciao
