The Italian Vernasca Silver Flag (June 28th – 30th) is surely one of the most astonishing events for classic cars here in Italy. This “modern version” of the famous Castell’Arquato – Vernasca hillclimb starts from the small and very charming medieval town of Castell’Arquato, near Piacenza.
What’s umbelieveable? We’ve seen 11 Lolas, 3 Ford GT40s, 2 Porsche 956s, the Ferrari 312 T2 Ex Niki Lauda, 2 McLaren Can Ams, an incredible number of Abarths, 4 Maseratis (2 A6 GCS, 1 300 S, a 1992 Barchetta), 6 Ferraris (Daytona Gr4, 250 SWB, 250 GTs…), Alfa Romeo TZ1, TZ2, P3, and 1750 GS, Lancia Stratos, Ginetta, Talbot, Lotus, Elvas, Coopers, Fiat 8V, Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, Jaguar C, Jaguar D, Oscas and so on.
